The new BMW X5 xDrive40e has been announced, with an autumn debut given. Prices are yet to be announced for this 313bhp, 2.0-litre engine SUV which operates in permanent all-wheel drive mode, even under all-electric power. Audi Plans Hybrid Q5 and Q7

Audi’s expanding SUV family will see plug-in hybrid versions of both the Q5 and Q7. Both cars will share the same power train, which may even be diesel-powered. Whilst the Q7 is expected to offer a claimed 166mpg, the lighter Q5 should go even better, whilst offering a claimed electric only range of at least 30 miles.

MG to Offer Plug-In Hybrid by 2017

The Chines company Roewe already offer a plug-in hybrid in its homeland, and it is expected that a development of this drivetrain will power parent company SAIC’s MG subsidiary. MG’s new SUV, with British design influence, will be going on sale in the UK in 2016, with a plug-in hybrid version being available within another twelve months.
